Abstract
A general method is given for finding conditions guaranteeing that when a single transistor is replaced by a small subcircuit, the uniqueness of the circuit´s operating point will be retained. Use of this method is illustrated on circuits containing compound transistors (Darlington pairs), current mirrors and cascodes. With this method it is possible to build a “library” of subcircuits that can be replaced by a single transistor for purposes of applying the Nielsen-Willson Theorem
