Abstract :
A novel low-cost photoreceiver integrating an erbium doped waveguide amplifier and a packaged short planar multimode waveguide PIN photodiode demonstrated -21.2 dBm sensitivity at BER 10-10 and PRBS of 215-1 for 40 Gb/s operations.
