Abstract
An overview of the state-of-the-art in THz technologies will be presented with emphasis on semiconductor-based generation. The use of GaN-based Quantum Cascade Laser s as possible high power THz source operating at room temperature will be discussed. Strain-related optical performance of GaN-based heterostructure will be presented.
