Abstract
A look on new possibilities opened up by jet printing technology is presented. A brief introduction to jet printing in a historical perspective and as compared to screen printing is provided. Several key applications where current technologies do not meet current or future requirements are reviewed and jet printing is pointed out as an enabling technology to take the electronics industry another step further. The discussion is summarized by pointing out a few key ingredients for successful implementation of new technologies.
