Abstract
In this paper, regular plane figures in Escher´s art works were explored from the angle of the relationship with mathematics. The figures were classified by three types: regularly filling, infinitely expressing, gradually dynamic expressing, and three basic principles of the design of Escher´s regular plane figures were put forward: using shared lines, drawing as saw tooth-like, symmetrically coloring, and therefore the enlightenment was revealed from Escher´s regular plane figures to the modern visual artistic design.
