Abstract :
Block method (BM) is a fast and new approach to solve forward and inverse problems in Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT). In this method, a tissue is modeled by some blocks at first in which each block has a uniform conductivity. Then, a medical image is created by calculation of these conductivities. Recently a noniterative linear inverse solution is introduced for BM which we call it 2D BM. In this paper, an efficient algorithm called 2D expanded block method (2D EBM) is suggested by a new formulation to improve 2D BM. To examine 2D EBM and 2D BM, several examples have been studied. Results show that the proposed algorithm could achieve superior outcomes in comparison with 2D BM.
