Abstract :
We study compensation of intra-channel nonlinearities by electronic pre-distortion (EPD) in wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) 40-Gb/s transmission systems with in-line optical dispersion compensators (ODCs). The performance of such systems is ultimately limited by inter-channel cross-phase modulation (XPM).
