Abstract :
One semi-automatic system is developed for testing the dielectric properties and grounding resistance of low-voltage busbar, one type of large-capacity electric power transmission equipment. The dielectric properties mainly include the insulation resistance and leakage current of busbar under occasional high voltage. The withstanding voltage and insulation resistance tester is used for testing its dielectric properties, and the earth continuity tester is used for testing its grounding resistance. GPIB is used as communication interface between computer and test instruments. The software for controlling and monitoring the testing process is developed based on .NET framework and with NI Measurement Studio. The developed software, running on Windows XP, and all hardware, integrated as a comprehensive test system, currently is deployed to production site and runs well.
