  • Abstract
INTERSPUTNIK is an independent international intergovernmental organization which commercially operates a satellite communications system. INTERSPUTNIK has an indepth knowledge of both the existing condition of telecommunications sector in each country and the requirements for the development of the region´s telecommunications services. The current Russian-made “Gorizont” satellites are to be replaced with the more advanced Russian “Express“ series. Each new satellite will have at least fifty C- and Ku-band transponders with the antenna patterns of the different configurations having special shapes. The basic transponder specifications of the new satellite are shown. INTERSPUTNIK has been considering the possibility of assisting the former Soviet republics in developing both international and domestic telecommunications
