The paper discusses various technical facilities used at the Centre. They include earth stations of different types and services, terrestrial test links, radiometers and a computer centre. The paper considers research results in the following areas: developing higher frequency ranges (above 10 GHz) and applications of digital TV and data transfer techniques and installations. It also outlines a few projects based on a commercial use of satellite communication and broadcasting systems at 14/11 GHz
