  • Abstract
    We investigate application of 10-Gb/s directly modulated laser as a cost-effective option for a typical 100GHz spacing DWDM, 6x80km metro link over standard single-mode fiber and compare performance with conventional Mach-Zehnder modulator-based transmitter.
