Abstract
The paper presents and discusses a procedure to apply a defined artificial pollution layer on insulating material specimens in order to evaluate the hydrophobicity transfer of these materials. The thickness of the artificial pollution layer, the influence of the climate during storage and the surface roughness on the hydrophobicity transfer have been investigated and are discussed.
