Abstract :
The paper presents a new method, based on twice-modal transformation (TMT), for steady-state calculation of the secondary arc current and the recovery voltage on a double-circuit transmission lines (DCTLs). The significance of this method is that the number of variables and equations is reduced to half of the once-modal transformation and thus the calculation work is reduced, and the algorithm is easily to be achieved by program. The performance of this method is tested at practical DCTLs. The steady-state values of the secondary arc current and the recovery voltage can be calculated accurately by the proposed method. Simulation results show that the new TMT method is correct and provide a new approach to calculate the steady-state values of the secondary arc current and the recovery voltage.
