    After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.

    Nowadays, for the obvious disadvantages of the traditional indoctrination and passive acceptance education, the study-based teaching has gained more and more attention in Chinese universities, especially in those research style universities. This paper discusses the origination, importance, conception, features, implement and the relative evaluation of the study-based teaching and with special emphasis on the exploration and experience of this teaching reform. Meanwhile the challenges and restraints which has encountered in Chinese universities were revealed. It can be concluded that the study-based teaching should and would gain wider and deeper application under the guide of government policy of China.
