Abstract :
The authors describe a computer-aided analysis method using commercially available software to provide quick estimates needed to support reliability and maintainability (R&M) decisions during the early stages of a development program. The method is equally applicable to both military and commercial contracts. The method utilizes fragmentary existing data supplemented by flexible estimating factors to expediously derive data in spreadsheet format, and is a useful tool for influencing design to include R&M requirements and enhancements
