  • Abstract
At Present, the numbers and positions of centralizers placing in rod string are decided only by the rate of the inclination angle of the wellbore. As a matter of fact, the azimuth and the movement of pumping rod make the problem more complicate. The 3D visualization technology was applied for the first time to simulate and visualize the real condition of rod strings and wellbore, in which the wellbore structure and rod strings´ mechanical model were considered. According to the 3D visualization product, all positions of eccentric wear can be displayed audio-visually and the optimum numbers and positions of centralizers can be determined accordingly. The results of experimental verification for cases show that the wellbore 3D Visualization technology can be applied to design the scheme of centralizer placing in intuitional and effective manner, which provide an effective tool to work out the problem of eccentric wear.
