Abstract
The authors describe actions taken to integrate support-related considerations such as reliability and maintainability (R&M) and logistics support analysis into design practices and the design phase of the US Navy´s Electronic Warfare Coordination Module (EWCM) program. The EWCM system is a computer-based, highly interactive tactical command and control system with which the EW coordinator and EWCM operators can effectively collect, manage, manipulate, generate, and promulgate electronic warfare/command and control communications countermeasures information data messages, and tasking indirect support of the battle group and the officer in tactical command/composite warfare coordinator. The EWCM will be installed on certain US Navy ships. The system is software-intensive and is expected to have approximately 200 screens to aid and assist the operators and decision makers
