Abstract :
Two new CMOS devices, the ADSP-1401 micro program sequencer and ADSP-1410 address generator, have been announced by ADI to support all sequencing and data addressing requirements in high-performance microcoded Digital Signal Processing (DSP) systems. This paper describes their respective architecture after identifying the features needed to support the most important sequencing and addressing requirements of fast DSP systems.
