Abstract :
We discuss the use of various forms of the cepstrum in the measurement of electroacoustic transducers, especially loudspeakers. The complex cepstrum is decomposed into all-pass and minimum-phase cepstra, which for normal loudspeakers are shown respectively to give the smooth all-pass crossover phase characteristic and the delayed-time reflections of the equivalent minimum-phase system. This separation of behavior allows cepstral editing to be carried out more successfully than normal editing of the complex cepstrum.
