  • Abstract
All-Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS) fiber-optic cables have been widely used in communications of power system. As ADSS optical cables are installed on power tower with high-voltage transmission lines, it may be affected by electrical field of electrical lines. So electro-corrosion may be damaged ADSS optical cables. Therefore, it is necessary to get the best location for the installation of ADSS fiber-optic cables. ADSSPE is a kind of software, which has been applied in the dry band arch to analyze the accident caused by ADSS optical cables´ rupture. In the paper, the electrical fields around several type high-voltage power towers are calculated by ADSSPE. The location method of ADSS fiber-optic cable is presented. And validity of the methods suggested in the paper can be proved practically.
