Abstract
Shaft diameter variation is the common procedure in construction of wellbore. Wall rock destruction will intensify with the change of shaft diameter. By modeling and simulation of the destruction in shaft diameter variation area which was changed quickly, it indicates that the mutation of surrounding rock mass and the stress concentration area is significantly larger than changed slowly, which was proved by mechanical analysis of the measured data.
