Abstract
A call admission scheme for ATM that accommodates naive users is described in this paper. This scheme requires a user to only specify a class of service. Calls of a particular class are refined into subclasses based on their behaviour and the free bandwidth is calculated based on the behaviour of previously accepted calls. This scheme is compared with other simple admission control schemes and shows good channel utilisation and acceptable delay characteristics
