The research status of practical teaching in economic management specialty in China by use of bibliometric analysis

By use of bibliometric analysis, 452 articles published in national journals on practical teaching in economic management specialty between 1987–2009 from database: China Academic Journals Full-text Database, are studied and categorized with the help of a reference software called NoteExpress. It could be concluded from the results that: (1) The amount of published documents concerning practical teaching in economic management specialty is small from 1987 to 1994 and has been generally presenting an increasing trend from 1995 to 2004. From 2004 to 2009, the number of documents on practical teaching in Economic Management specialty follows a J-based growth. (2) All research institutes were counted in the 452 papers, and altogether there were 272 research institutes. Among them, 69.5%, that is, 189 research institutes published only one paper respectively in the 23 years. 9 research institutes published 5 papers in the 23 years. The research institutes who published the most papers were from Guangdong University of Business Studies, Inner Mongolia Finance and Economics College, Chongqing Technology and Business University. (3) Authors of any order were counted in the 452 documents, and altogether there were 650 authors. Among them, Dongsheng Li, published 5 papers. 6 authors published 4 papers respectively. First authors were counted in the 452 documents, and altogether there were 404 authors. There are 4 scholars who have published 4 papers as first author. (4) The 452 papers were published in 238 journals. Among them, 169 published only one paper respectively. Amongst the 15 journals with over 5 papers published, only three journals are core journals in China. They are Research and Exploration in Laboratory, Practical Technology and Management, Friends of Accounting.
