Abstract :
Repetitive PD inception and extinction voltages (RPDIV and RPDEV) defined in IEC61934TS was studied with a newly developed measuring system. The system consists of a bipolar repetitive impulse generator and DC controller which modulates the impulses with a slow up-and-down profile. With PD charge detection method, this system enables to make a long-time measurement. PD probability to repetitive impulse voltage was calculated from stored PD data. The probability P was plotted against both increasing and decreasing voltage and clear hysteresis curves were obtained except for the earlier stage. Based on P-V characteristics, long-time RPDIV and RPDEV characteristics were discussed.
