The research on the development of the form on the urban public space in china in the period of 1949–2008

The urban square form is discussed in this paper. The time from 1949 to 2008 is an important stage for the development of urban square form in China. The study results show that the design of the square form ranges from the simple geometric configuration to the natural configuration based on the geometric form, which is caused by the development of the politics economy as well as the change of the square function during the 60 years (1949-2008).
