Abstract :
Normal traction current and short-circuit fault current of overhead contact line in electrified railway are almost the same in amplitude and shape, which makes the great challenges to the traditional relay protection methods. For characteristics of rapid increase in current amplitude and distortion in current waveform during short-circuit fault, this paper constructs a fault diagnosis criterion based on the kurtosis parameter and skewness parameters to realize the relay protection of overhead contact line. It is proved that the new protection methods adopted waveform parameter identification principle, can be quickly and accurately identify the short-circuit fault of overhead contact line in experiment.
