Abstract :
Wind turbine can be a suitable option in distributed generation because of its efficiency in performance and economical concerns. Optimized and precise performance of wind turbine is essential for the sake of compatibility to smart grids. It is known that wind turbines have different control strategies. The goal of this paper is to check the relative stability of different wind turbine control strategies. First, the probability theory is exploited to find the probability density function (PDF) of model parameters according to the variations in wind velocity. Then a method based on the LMI theory is used to find the range of variation of parameters in a wind turbine, modeled by a linear parameter varying (LPV) model. Applying this method to the plant in different control strategies, shows that their relative stabilities are differed. Therefore it would be better to choose the best for our purposes.
