Abstract
As an important means of CAID, 3D graphics software plays a significant role in the current field of industrial design. Compared with traditional teaching methods, the application of 3D graphics software has brought profound changes in the forming process of students´ design abilities. New problems are studied brought by 3D graphics software assisting design to traditional design education, and the solution is proposed. 3D graphics software should be more closely integrated with industrial design education. In the forming process of students´ design abilities, the software must be made full use of to develop their creative design thinking. 3D graphics software must be developed and improved for the new mode of industrial design education. In the process of design education, appropriate time should be chosen to impart software knowledge. It enables students to improve design abilities to adapt to times development.
