Abstract
An efficient moving object segmentation algorithm which can overcome inherent drawbacks of common Change Detection Mask (CDM) and the video enhancement algorithm which is special for coal mine video monitoring system are proposed in the paper. After simulating and comprising by subjective estimation, it is shown that these processes can segment the motion object completely and improve the video quality of monitoring system in coal mine underground by enhancing the local texture of interested region with the lower bit rate at the same time.
