Abstract :
A solar controller with improved P&O (perturb and observe) method for hydrological forecast backup power is proposed. The method is executed on the battery side. The controller can evaluate state of health of battery by measuring its dynamic internal resistance and can alarm when it degrades. Optimized managements for charging and discharging obviously prolong the life of battery. A lot of efforts have been made to lower power dissipation of the controller to provide more power for hydrological forecast system in the weather without sunshine. A full description of the controller and implementation analysis are presented.
