Abstract :
In recent years the simulation tools have been optimized for precise modelling and simulation for their special purpose. Therefore the simulation tools have been developed to model and simulate a certain problem. In the past, the hardware was used to be modeled in a SPICE simulator, the software in a signal and differential equation based simulator. Nowadays the investigated systems are decreasingly only software or only hardware but a complex system architecture of hard- and software interlinked with each other. Therefore the interfaces of hard- and software can not always be simplified to a simple mathematical function as an initial precondition for isolated simulation of hard- and software. Due to the absent ability of simplifying the interfaces, a Co-simulation of hard- and software has to be performed. In this paper a holistic model of an matrix converter is presented, modelling power electronics in PSPICE and commutating logic as well as software in MATLAB/Simulink.
