Abstract
The effect of different sampling sequences on the alias frequency content of a sampled signal is studied. The alias frequency content of uniform, jittered and additive random sampling sequences is evaluated in the frequency domain. An expression for the Power Spectral Density (PSD) of an arbitrary sampling sequence is given and used for spectrum analysis throughout this paper. The nonuniform sampling sequence with the minimum alias frequency content is considered to be optimum for frequency analysis and reconstruction of signals above the Nyquist frequency limit
