  • Abstract
Based on the characteristics of complex product development, to deal with the optimal customization point problem of the different customization requirement, the architecture of supply chain model for complex products life cycle was proposed. According to the different position of the customer order decoupling point (CODP) in product life cycle, the architecture is divided into five supply chain types-development and design, manufacturing, assembling, delivery and post-sale service. The supply chain that is developed and designed by order is taken as an example, built the optimal CODP model for the selection of the positions in aiming that the total cost of supply chain is minimum. Meanwhile, determine the optimal position of the beginning of customization with the constraint of waiting time of client, ability of product value-increased, productive capacity and logistics capability. Finally, this model was simulated. It is pointed that the CODP is at the beginning and ending of production course, the production cost is comparatively higher. However, the closer CODP move towards middle reaches of the production, the lower the cost is. The results indicate that the selection of the optimal position of CODP should be the middle reaches of production course, it could help enterprises to efficiently implement customized production of complex products with low cost.
