Abstract
As supply voltage scales down, transistor threshold voltage reduces, resulting in excessive subthreshold leakage power. This paper discusses circuit techniques for leakage avoidance, control, and tolerance to mitigate the subthreshold leakage. Interaction between technologist, circuit designers, and architects has now become even more important to optimize the entire system.
