Abstract
Spectral analysis of voice-band signals in the process of 2W-4W hybrid balancing and echo cancellation in telephony is considered. The algorithms studied here are the recursive least-squares (RLS), the stochastic gradient (SG), and a novel algorithm which uses data-dependent updating [1] and which will be referred to as the OBE algorithm throughout the paper. Simulation results using single-tone signals and C-message as inputs to the system will be given. It will be seen that for both kinds of signals, more than 40 dB echo return loss can be obtained for both RLS and OBE algorithms. The SG seems to perform much worse.
