  • Abstract
    This paper introduced the research background and status of the training simulator for cranes, showed its function modules and system architecture. In terms of three different types of objects in the virtual scene, corresponsive modeling strategies for crane, material and environment were proposed. Moreover, based on VRML, the detail modeling methods for crane mechanism, crane structure, environment and materials were described. Finally, the interactive operating device of the training simulator was introduced and some applications were given.
