Abstract
Procedure and method for the design and development of safety instrumented system (SIS) in process industries has been presented. A technique of the system hazard analysis and initial risk assessment used for safety instrumented function (SIF) determination and assignment has been introduced. Procedure and methods of safety integrity level (SIL) selection are investigated in detail. Plan and engineering for SIS have been investigated.
