  • Abstract
This paper presents a detailed model to generate wind speed data for a certain site in a time step that can reach 1 second. This fine time step could be implemented to study the effect of wind energy penetration on the power system stability (Dynamic and static from the point of views of voltage and frequency). Moreover, a simplified algorithm is proposed to estimate the wind speed array for each wind turbine in a wind farm depending only on the initial wind stream incoming to the wind farm and considering the wake effect due to the rotor and tower shadowing. These wind speed arrays are synchronized as the time delays due to the spacing between wind turbines and the wind different velocities are considered. These wind speeds are the basic input for the wind farm electrical power and kinetic energy (especially in case of frequency drops) aggregation procedures. MATLAB was used to simulate the proposed techniques and plotting all the graphs presented in this paper.
