Abstract
Based on the dressed state formalism, we obtain the adiabatic criterion of sum frequency generation(SFG).We show that the key points of energy conversion for sum frequency conversion correspond to the diabatic points. The high efficiency and broadband sum frequency conversion that we desired can be obtained by using a chirped quasi-phase-matched(QPM) crystal. Therefore,we can control SFG manually.
