Abstract
This paper presents an adaptive state-prediction facsimile coding technique. It is based on the third-order Markovian state prediction coding and the Chinese character
-pattern. By detecting the particular state-pair along the right and left inclined strokes the predictor state will be changed adaptively. Then we can get more accurate predictions and bigger data compression ratio.
