Abstract :
Cantilever Strain Sensor system based on long-period fiber grating (LPG) is presented. Strain response of the transmission intensity of the LPG is investigated. Experimental results show that a transmission intensity of LPG changed with the changing of the strain. And the main transmission intensity of the LPG unchanged, which can used to detect the temperature. The sensitivity of this sensor is up to 0.75 dB / N over a range from 0.5 to 5N. It indicates the LPG cantilever strain sensor is feasible to measure strain and temperature simultaneously.
