  • Abstract
Time-varying additive colored noise causes degradation of the overall performance of a communication system based on a matched filter receiver, designed on the basis of an estimate for the noise. Robustness of the proposed moving average matched filter (MAMF) system results from transmitting a signal vector composed of a number of concatenated linearly independent basis vectors. By linearly combining the basis vectors in the receiver, any vector in the signal vector subspace can serve as signal vector. As the colored noise varies with time its autocorrelation is estimated, and the OSNR (output signal-to-noise ratio) of the MAMF receiver is maximized over the signal vector subspace, making the proposed system robust to a priori unknown, time-varying colored noise
