Abstract
The subject of this paper is the study of the polarisation properties and other parameters of antennas for use in a polarisation diversity application in the base station of a mobile communication system. The antenna main polarisation tilt angle is analysed for ±45 degrees or 0/90 degrees. The preferred orientation is proposed. Uplink and downlink aspects are analysed. It is concluded which kind of antenna is right for best diversity gain
