Abstract :
Extracting mineralization and alteration information and acquiring spatial distribution features of alteration rocks can be more efficient through digital image processing methods, combined with spectral analysis of rock and minerals, this paper introduced an effective information extraction method based on remote sensing image. An ASTER image covering middle cambrian mountainous area in Gejiu, Yunnan Province, china, was used for alteration mineral detection. First, the ASTER data were preprocessed , then the image analysis and processing techniques such as PCA were used to extract mineralization and alteration information; and lastly, weak mineralization and alteration information of this region is extracted, which provides useful information for further mineral prospecting.
