Abstract :
In this paper, the monitoring module of the integrated power system (IPS) in a ship was discussed, with traditional monitoring methods and their shortcomings analyzed briefly. We designed a hybrid network to optimize the monitoring system of the IPS, which could reduce cables laid in the jamming rooms, manage the topology conveniently, raise the communication efficiency, and make the installation, maintenance and restructure easy. We also proposed a new architecture of the hybrid network, with its particular functions and key techniques expounded in detail. Communication system with high efficiency greatly affects the success of the hybrid network design. Therefore, channel access and protocol transfer, two important technologies in communication system, were discussed. Finally, the hybrid network was simulated in OPNET. The simulation results indicate that the hybrid network performs well, which proves its reliability to some extent.
