Abstract
In this paper, we propose a real-time implant kernel(RTiK) which will provides real-time capabilities on Microsoft Windows based on x86 platforms. The kernel-extension software provided in this research project will be developed by implanting expanded HAL(Hardware Abstraction Layer) to provide real-time capabilities in the kernel of Windows on x86 platforms. To Uniquely control timer interrupts, our product will facilitate the Local APIC(Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller) of the x86 CPU. Experimental results show that RTiK guarantees a minimum response time of 0.1ms for each real-time task.
