Abstract :
This paper concerns systolic arrays and the broader class of synchronous, special-purpose systems. We establish the properties of such systems relative to synchronism, and develop a procedure to determine the algorithm that a specific array implements. Such a procedure is crucial for checking the correct use of the architecture.
