Abstract
Some equivalences or transformations between a number of periodically time-varying (PTV) digital filters are developed. The transformation between the commutator and modulator analysis structures is presented. The transformation allows the problem specification and design in either or both domains. Equivalent analysis structures are found for a canonical PTV IIR (infinite-impulse response) digital filter. It is shown that the denominator of the time-invariant filters in these structures have a special form. Using this special form, a design procedure is developed for the PTV IIR canonical filter structure
