Abstract :
In this paper a multiobjective design optimization of an air-core linear permanent magnet synchronous motor is presented. Thrust, thrust ripple and consumed magnet volume are chosen as objectives for design optimization. A 2D finite element analysis is carried out to evaluate the optimization results.
