Abstract :
This paper presents a general purpose computer program which is capable of designing a large class of optimal in the minimax sense, FIR linear phase 2-D circularly symmetric and symmetric fan filters. The algorithm used is globally convergent and does not suffer from the curse of degeneracy which algorithms based on linear programming do suffer. The computer program was tested on over 400 design examples and it was always successful in obtaining the optimal results.
